Stewart was living in Florida when he passed away in 2016. He was buried in Elkins Park, PA.
A summary from the obituaries is:
Stewart C. Sapnas of Tampa, FL, passed away on May 30, 2016. He was married to Lynn and father to Charles (Jamie), Christen (Levi), Alexandra (Anthony). He was stepfather to Jennifer and Jason. His grandchildren were Sophia, Ariana, and Aaden. He was survived by his mother Evelyn, sisters Anita (Tom) and Patricia, and many nieces and nephews. He was described as "hardworking and patient, stubborn and insistent in his ways."

Services were held on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016, at 11:00 am at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 7921 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19021. Interment was in Lawnview Cemetery.
